Connect a receipt printer
A device can have a cable printer, a Bluetooth printer, or both. With both switched on, every receipt has a button for each.
A cable printer prints in one of two ways. Through the computer’s printer: any printer installed in Windows, a receipt printer such as an Epson TM-T20 or an office printer, which prints through the usual print window. Or straight to a USB receipt printer: an ESC/POS thermal printer switched to the WinUSB driver, or a tablet with a printer plugged into it, which prints at once and cuts the paper.
A Bluetooth printer is the portable kind that sits beside a phone or tablet, on every plan and the local licence. It works in Chrome or Edge on Android, Windows and Mac. Most take 58mm paper. An older printer that does not appear in the list can still be used on a Windows computer or a Mac: pair it in the computer’s Bluetooth settings first, then choose “connect it here”.
Printing straight to a printer takes 58mm, 80mm or 112mm paper. These settings are for each device, so set them up on every till.
- Connect a cable printer, or switch a Bluetooth printer on and turn on Bluetooth on this device.
- In TrackShopGh, open Settings, then Receipt printer.
- Switch on each printer this device uses. For a cable printer, choose how it prints; for a Bluetooth printer, press Pair a printer and pick it from the list. Choose the paper width for each printer that prints straight away.
- Print the test receipt to check it.
